The Friends of the Woodlawn Library was formed in May 2001. Its founding goal was to expedite the move to a new state-of-the-art library on the former DMV site at 9th Street and Bancroft Parkway. Now an organization with over 1000 members, its current mission is to support the growth of the Woodlawn Library by involving a diverse community. Members help provide programming and financial support to ongoing library operations.
